Pengaruh Metode Belajar Discovery Learning Dipadu Media Virtual Reality Pada Materi Sistem Saraf Terhadap Hasil Dan Retensi Belajar Siswa Di SMA Negeri 2 Langowan

Abstract


ABSTRACT

 

The problem that found during obsevation is lack of results and student learning retention and lack of availability of media Virtual reality that can supports learning. This research aims to discuss the influence of discovery learning methods combined with virtual reality (VR) media on nervous system topic on student learning outcomes and retention. This research is a True Experimental with The randomized pretest – posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were students at State 2 Senior High school at Langowan with a population of all students of XI MIPA totaling 46 students. The sample consisted of class XI MIPA 1 as many as 23 students. The research process lasted in 2 month with 3 meetings. The result showed that the average learning outcomes the experimental class reached 81,52 in the control class reaching 66,95. The tcount obtained is 8,45, Learning retention of experimental class students reached a retention percentage 98,4%, meanwhile in the control with a retention percentage reaching 83,11%. It can be concluded that discovery learning methods are combined with virtual reality media effect on student learning outcomes and retention.

ABSTRAK

Masalah yang ditemukan pada saat observasi adalah kurangnya hasil dan retensi belajar siswa serta kurang tersedianya media Virtual Reality untuk menunjang pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas pengaruh metode belajar Discovery Learning dipadu media Virtual Reality (VR) pada materi sistem saraf terhadap hasil dan retensi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen murni dengan desain The Randomized Pretest Posttest Control Group design. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Langowan dengan populasi seluruh siswa XI MIPA yang berjumlah 46 siswa. Sampel terdiri dari kelas XI MIPA 1 sebanyak 23 siswa dan kelas XI MIPA 2 sebanyak 23 siswa. Proses penelitian ini berlangsung selama 2 bulan dengan 3 pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata – rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen mencapai 81,52 pada kelas kontrol mencapai 66,95. Persentasi retensi belajar siswa kelas eksperimen mencapai 98,4%, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol dengan persentase retensi 83,11% maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode belajar Discovery Learning dipadu media Virtual Reality (VR) berpengaruh terhadap hasil dan retensi belajar siswa.
