PENDIDIKAN PERDAMAIAN BERBASIS BUDAYA LOKAL

Abstract


Some serious conflicts in Indonesia certainly made people nervous, such as the separatist conflicts in Aceh and Papua. Disputes between groups in Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and Maluku, until recently the problem of racism that occurred in East Java and Jakarta against Papuan students. The recent rise of violent acts, some in the name of religion, shows that education has not instilled a culture of tolerance, human values, and mutual respect. Education only provides material about patience in the Citizenship Education lesson. Every week, students get only two hours of lectures. It is only memorized (cognitive) and has not touched the affective and psychomotor aspects. Education is a transfer process of knowledge and value, including the importance of tolerance both between religious communities and internal religious communities. The implementation involved 20 communities in Tondano. Execution by using the stages of introduction, performance, and evaluation. The results show that local culture contains noble values that need to be explored so that local culture still exists in the community. Peace education based on local culture has a more significant impact than from literature and general theory.
